In February of 2018, I had this crazy idea of running a content marathon on our site here. There were several reasons behind this madness. Moments after it ended, I didn’t feel it would happen again.
Well, never say never.
When we finished it up last year, I wrote a post on the process.
Would we ever do this again? Maybe (you know my mantra, never say never).
As I said, initially, after it was all said and done, I had no intention of doing it again. By the time I wrote the follow-up post, this is how I felt.
But I was already starting to change my mind.
Why Do This?
I really wish I could encapsulate that into a simple answer. One could flippantly say that it’s because I can. (Why climb the mountain? Because it’s there.)
In reality, it just sounded like a good thing to do again. We create a lot of content on this site, so why not push it up a few notches for 48 hours?
Is This Live?
Ha, dream on. If you visualize Judy and I slamming away at the keyboards for 3,187 minutes, you are sorely mistaken. We work on this for a couple of months prior to the date. We spend time coming up with an initial plan, finding the right topics, and, of course, creating and scheduling the content. Then, at some point, we can let out a heavy sigh.
Anything Different This Year?
Not sure if we will have any little surprises along the way, but we have focused the content down. Last year we were pretty random with topics and mediums. This year it’s all about WooCommerce. (
(Who would have guessed?)
Specific WooCommerce How-Tos
Many of our tutorials are broad-based and cover plugins and extensions that help you grow your store and sales. We write about content in the eCommerce space as well. But what about those specific things you need to do?
For example, we have a post that shows you how to add subscriptions to your WooCommerce store.
But in our marathon, we have a post titled: Let Your WooCommerce Customers Choose Their Own Subscription Price.
In the latter example, we are giving you a solution to something much more specific when it comes to subscriptions.
See where we are going with this?
When Does This Happen?
The first post will go out on April 2, at 6 am. The final post will be April 4th at 6 am. One post every hour, on the hour. 48 hours. 48 posts.
What If I Miss One?
Obviously we are not expecting anyone to sit around holding their breath for the next post. But one of the reasons we do this is to be able to add an onslaught of knowledge in articles, within two days, for you to read when you need a solution.
Last year we un-published them after the two days, and republished all of them again over the following month or two. This year, they get published and stay published. We will likely create a post at the end with the full list and links, but those 48 little buggers will find their permanent home here the moment life is breathed into them (AKA, pushing the publish button.)
That’s it. We may have some other goodies or surprises coming, but for now you can expect what we have always delivered: timely, relevant, solution-based content.
